Meet Ms. Goode
Welcome to my corner of the digital world! I’m a graduate student at Lamar University, passionate about blending education, technology, and a dash of creativity. By day, I’m an ACE Program Coordinator at a Title I school, where I’m all about creating a fun, inclusive, and enriching environment for students. By night, I'm a mom to the world's best toddler, Lorynn (who is expecting her little sister this summer), and in all the time in between (whenever I find a moment of peace!), I’m on a mission to explore how technology can be the perfect partner in helping us work smarter, not harder. I’m always on the lookout for new ways to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and bring innovative ideas to life.
Where I've Been...
2018
I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2018. I graduated with the intent of setting out to be a middle school ELA teacher.
2019
Immediately after graduating, I took a position as a 6th Grade ELAR Teacher at a Title I school in Cy-Fair ISD (Houston, Tx).
2019-2023
After my first semester of teaching, I sought out a new opportunity, and took a position as a 6th Grade ELA Teacher at a middle school in Fort Bend ISD. During this time, I became the 6th Grade Team Leader, I joined the district's curriculum writing team, I coached three sports, and I was voted the HAABSE (Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators) Teacher of the Year!
2023 & Beyond
I have since moved back to my home town (Austin, TX) to be near my family as I raise my children.
I work as a Program Coordinator for a grant funded, need based afterschool program. In this position, I have consistently reached at least 1/4 of the school population and 1/5 of the schools parent population by offering high quality, engaging classes and programs for students and families. I have learned the value of connecting with community partners and seeking out my own resources to reach my goals. This is the most fulfilling career I've experienced to date.
